  • Current coin balance, which is a holdings snapshot rather than a transaction record.

Before you start

WazirX account

You need to be able to log in and request a trading report, on web or in the app.

CryptoKar account

Free to create. You can import and see your tax calculation before you pay for a report.

Part 1

Download your report from WazirX

The trading report is one file with several sections: Exchange Trades, P2P Trades, STF Trades, Current Coin Balance, Deposit and Withdrawals, Ledger History, and Airdrops and other distributions.

  • One report covers 12 months at most, so request one for each financial year you traded in.
  • Select every report in the list before you request it. Anything left out is missing from the file.
  • Never open or edit the file before uploading. If you already did, request a fresh copy.
  1. Step 1: Log in to WazirX

Go to wazirx.com and sign in to your account.

  2. Step 2: Open Account Settings

Click the profile icon in the top right corner and select Account Settings.

  3. Step 3: Click Download Reports

Then click Trading Report to open the drop-down menu.

  4. Step 4: Choose the duration

Pick a period from the drop-down, or set a custom duration of up to 12 months.

  5. Step 5: Request the report

Select every report you want, then click Request Trading Report.

The report reaches your registered email address, usually in under 2 minutes. Download it without opening it, then move on to the import steps below.

WazirX's own instructions

Exchanges rename menus from time to time. If a step here does not match what you see, check the source.

Part 2

Import into CryptoKar

Upload the file exactly as you downloaded it: your WazirX trading report for each 12-month period. Files for all your years can go in together.
  1. Step 1: Open Integrations

Sign in to CryptoKar and click Integrations in the sidebar.

  2. Step 2: Pick your exchange

Search for it in the integrations list and open its upload page.

  3. Step 3: Add your files

Drag the files in or browse for them. You can select files for all your years at once.

  4. Step 4: Click Parse & Import

CryptoKar reads the files in your browser and adds the transactions to your account.

  5. Step 5: Check your transactions

Open Transactions to see what came in. Anything CryptoKar could not price is marked there.

  6. Step 6: View your tax calculation

Open Reports for your crypto gains, TDS and Schedule VDA rows for the year.

Done. Your WazirX transactions are in your account, matched with FIFO, and your gains and TDS are ready on the Reports page.

Things to know

  • Import every year you traded in so the cost of your older crypto is available for later sales.
  • Where TDS was deducted in a crypto asset, WazirX only shows its INR value in the report after 48 hours. Pull the report again if a recent trade looks short.
  • Coins you moved in from another exchange have no buy price in this file. Import that exchange too and the gap fills in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions people ask before their first WazirX import.

One financial year at a time, 1 April to 31 March. WazirX caps a single report at 12 months, so request one for each year you traded and upload them together.

Usually under 2 minutes. It goes to your registered email address, and it can take longer at busy times.

Not yet. WazirX reports P2P and STF trades in their own sections, and CryptoKar reads the exchange trades, transfers and ledger sections. Everything else in the file imports normally.

Yes, from the exchange trades section. When the TDS was taken in crypto rather than INR, its rupee value only appears in the report after 48 hours.

Troubleshooting

The download is empty
There was no activity in that period. Widen the duration to the full financial year and request again.
Rows are missing after the import
Some reports were left unselected in the drop-down. Request the report again with all of them ticked.
Recent TDS looks wrong
TDS deducted in crypto takes 48 hours to show its INR value. Request a fresh report after that and re-import.
Dates land in the wrong financial year
The file was opened and saved in a spreadsheet app, which changed the date format. Upload a fresh download.
