Before you start

CoinDCX app

Reports are generated in the CoinDCX app, under Profile.

Free to create. You can import and see your tax calculation before you pay for a report.

Part 1

Download your report from CoinDCX

One report covers every product for the quarter you pick, with a separate sheet for each: Insta, Spot, Futures and Global Futures, and Options.

  • Reports are generated per financial year and per quarter, so a full year is up to four files. Download each one.
  • The report arrives by email, typically within 4 hours. It is not an instant download.
  • Never open or edit the file before uploading. Saving it again in Excel changes the dates.
  1. Step 1: Open Generate Reports

Log in to the CoinDCX app and go to Profile, then Generate Reports.

  2. Step 2: Choose Trade Report

Tap Trade Report from the list of available reports.

  3. Step 3: Select the financial year and quarter

Pick the financial year, then the quarter you want. Q1 is April to June, Q4 is January to March.

  4. Step 4: Submit the request

CoinDCX emails the report to your registered address, typically within 4 hours.

  5. Step 5: Repeat for every quarter

Do this for each quarter you traded in. Save each file without opening it.

Request every quarter you have traded in before you start uploading. CryptoKar needs the older quarters to work out the cost of crypto you sold later.

CoinDCX's own instructions

Exchanges rename menus from time to time. If a step here does not match what you see, check the source.

Part 2

Import into CryptoKar

Upload the file exactly as you downloaded it: your CoinDCX trade report for each quarter you traded in. Files for all your years can go in together.
  1. Step 1: Open Integrations

Sign in to CryptoKar and click Integrations in the sidebar.

  2. Step 2: Pick your exchange

Search for it in the integrations list and open its upload page.

  3. Step 3: Add your files

Drag the files in or browse for them. You can select files for all your years at once.

  4. Step 4: Click Parse & Import

CryptoKar reads the files in your browser and adds the transactions to your account.

  5. Step 5: Check your transactions

Open Transactions to see what came in. Anything CryptoKar could not price is marked there.

  6. Step 6: View your tax calculation

Open Reports for your crypto gains, TDS and Schedule VDA rows for the year.

Done. Your CoinDCX transactions are in your account, matched with FIFO, and your gains and TDS are ready on the Reports page.

Things to know

  • Import every quarter you traded in. If you bought in an earlier year and sold later, CryptoKar needs the earlier file to work out the cost of the crypto.
  • Coins you moved in from another exchange have no buy price in this file. Import that exchange too and the gap fills in.
  • The quarterly TDS Certificate is a separate PDF download and cannot be imported. The TDS columns inside the trade report are what CryptoKar reads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions people ask before their first CoinDCX import.

CoinDCX says typically within 4 hours. It goes to the email address on your CoinDCX account, so check spam if you do not see it.

One per quarter. CoinDCX generates the trade report by financial year and quarter, so a full year of trading is four files. Upload them together.

Yes. Realised profit and loss comes in from the Futures Orders and Global Futures sheet, along with your spot and Insta trades.

CoinDCX includes both in the report, but CryptoKar does not read those sheets yet. Everything else in the file imports normally.

Yes. The TDS columns in the Spot and Insta sheets are imported and show up in your tax calculation. The Form 16A certificate is a separate PDF and is not needed for the import.

Troubleshooting

The report email never arrived
Check your spam folder, then request it again from Profile, Generate Reports. CoinDCX sends it only to your registered email address, typically within 4 hours.
Fewer transactions than expected
A quarter is probably missing. The report is generated per quarter, so a full year needs four files.
The file was not accepted
It was edited or saved again from a spreadsheet app. Download a fresh copy and upload that.
Some sales show no cost
The buy is in an earlier quarter or on another exchange. Import that file into the same account.
